National Rail Ridership exceeds Expectations

A study of rail-based public transit systems in nine U.S. cities found that
ridership surpassed expectations in nearly every case and that rail
systems boosted redevelopment around transit stations.

The new report, “Rail Transit Works: Light Rail Success Stories from
Across the Country,” analyzes the popularity of transit systems in six states and Washington, D.C.

Beaumont-Port Arthur Transit Link Broken

Bus service connecting Beaumont and Port Arthur will end after July 31 because federal funding for the pilot project has run dry.

Bob Dickinson, who oversaw the Beaumont-Port Arthur LINK, said by telephone that he hoped to find money to provide a similar public transportation program between the two cities in the future.
