Colorado Rail Car will show its latest rail car technology in Texas in September and October. The passenger rail car is self-propelled and is capable of pulling additional passenger coaches as the need warrants.

Texas US Congressman Martin Frost will dedicate the Trinity Railway Express’ latest commuter rail car on Tuesday, September 2, 10:00 a.m. on the T&P station boarding platform (south of the T&P) in downtown Fort Worth. TRE is the highly popular Trinity Railway Express commuter rail line that runs between Fort Worth and Dallas.

It would appear that projected, future budget deficits will become greater than expected and could last for the remainder of this decade. Reading this news article raises the concern that these larger federal budget deficits will have a major impact on federal transportation reauthorization legislation. Reauthorization is expected to be delayed for as long as two more years in hopes of an economic recovery that would allow for a more robust transportation appropriation. An increase in the federal motor fuels tax rate may be one method to address the need to expand transportation infrastructure.
