Houston METRO hires new Manager

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority of Harris County, or METRO, has hired a new President & CEO in Frank J. Wilson on April 20. Wilson, 55, will take over May 3 from Shirley A. Houston monorail company gets Chinese Contract

After 17 years and nearly $18 million in investments to keep it afloat, a quiet Houston company is poised to bank nearly $34 million on its first major deal to put rail cars in the sky.

Aerobus International Inc. signed a joint-venture agreement on April 2 with AJ Trust Development Co. Ltd., an investment firm headquartered in Shanghai, China, to install a transit system across Weihai Bay connecting a neighboring island to the city’s downtown.

Houston’s Metro preparing for new leader

The Metropolitan Transit Authority may have a new leader. Metro’s board of directors is expected to meet to approve a contract for Frank Wilson.

He is currently the president of a construction consulting firm, and has 30 years of public transportation experience.

Wilson has worked for transit systems in San Francisco, Chicago and Philadelphia.

Wilson will succeed outgoing president and chief executive officer Shirley DeLibero, who is retiring.
