Awarding of FY06 Federal 5311 Commission Discretionary Funds is tentatively scheduled for Commission action at the March 30, 2006 Texas Transportation Commission meeting. The meeting is at TxDOT, 125 E. 11th Street, Austin, beginning at 9:00 am.
Approximately $7,000,000 in FY06 5311 federal funding is being considered by the Commission to be awarded to the rural operators.
Transit operators are welcome to speak at all Commission meetings.

The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) is considering changes to the current funding formula for 5311 federal funding and state funding for 5307 and 5311 transit operators.
Rule Changes to Chapter 31 of the Texas Administrative Code (TAC) that describe the funding formula are being discussed at the Public Transportation Advisory Committee (PTAC) meetings on March 9, 2006 and on March 17, 2006. Both PTAC meetings are held at the TxDOT building at 200 Riverside in Austin. Meetings begin at 9:30 and transit operators are welcome to speak at any PTAC meeting.
At the February 23, 2006 Texas Transportation Commission meeting, the Commission proposed adoption of new rules to the Texas Transportation Code related to the awarding of Transportation Development Credits formerly referred to as Toll Credits.
The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) will conduct a public hearing to receive public comments on these proposed rule changes on March 31, 2006 at TxDOT, 125 E. 11th Street in Austin. The public hearing begins at 10:30 but those wishing to speak may register beginning at 10:00 am. Written comments must be submitted to TxDOT no later than April 10, 2006.
