Transit Planner
Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County in Houston, Texas is seeking a Transit Planner II with Four (4) years experience in planning and technical data analysis. Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in transportation Planning, Public Administration, Urban Planning or a related field. Master’s Degree preferred.
Requirements include: knowledge of transit system operation and statistics. Have strong verbal and written communication skills and working knowledge of PC’s and related software (MS Office). Must be a self-starter interested in improving public transportation. Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.
The successful candidate will assist in the development of service plans; including new routes and modifications to existing routes to improve productivity. The Transit Planner II provides assistance in responding to issues and information requests from the public, local and government agencies. Will also assist in both collaborative and independent preparation of required technical support documentation and presentation materials; attends meetings with the public and local agencies. Plans and recommends implementation of new and restructured local and regional transit services.
