Public buses have rolled into Arlington, Texas for the first time, thanks to a partnership between The Forth Worth T and the City of Arlington.
On September 2, The T began its non-stop commuter bus service between two Arlington park and ride lots and the downtown Fort Worth Intermodal Transportation Center in a one-year pilot program.
“This partnership between The T and the City of Arlington should help reduce peak Fort Worth traffic congestion as well as demonstrate to Arlington residents the benefits of mass transit,” said Dick Ruddell, president of The T.

September 1, 2008 marked the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the Public Transportation Division (PTN) at the Texas Department of Transportation. In those days, the department was known as the State Department of Highways and Public Transportation (SDHPT) and PTN had previously been a subsection in what is now the Transportation Planning and Programming Division. PTN Moves Offices
The Public Transportation Division (PTN) of Texas Department of Transportation has relocated its offices from the Austin Riverside Campus to the Camp Hubbard Campus (located off of MoPac between 35th and 45th Streets).
Their mailing address remains the same, 125 E. 11th Street, Austin, TX 78701. Only the physical address has changed to: 3712 Jackson Avenue, Austin, Texas 78731.
