Ridership on The T has grown from 5.2 to nearly 9 million annual passenger trips, since the creation of the Fort Worth Transportation Authority by voters on November 8, 1983.
In recognition of its 25th anniversary, The T has launched a year-long celebration. President Dick Ruddell was joined by Mr. T. Boone Pickens, who praised The T’s use of natural gas to run its buses.
Pickens, a recent guest on Jay Leno’s Tonight Show, used The T as an example of industry leaders going green with CNG powered trucks and buses.
