Position Description:
Oversee METRO Solutions construction work. Ensure the various projects meet METRO’s organizational objectives. Provide problem solving capabilities to resolve project issues. Part-Time Bus Operator Trainees

Salary: $12.85/hr
Education: High school diploma preferred but not required.
Must be 21 years of age.
Work Experience:
Minimum three (3) years general work experience to include driving experience and customer service experience.
Minimum of two (2) years continuous employment in a direct public contact position is preferred.
Basic Function:

Under general supervision, the Bus Operator drives METRO Buses to transport passengers over specified routes to local or distant points according to time schedules, charters and special services.

Bus Operators are expected to interact with passengers in a courteous and helpful manner.

Bus Operators are also expected to perform pre-trip inspections of assigned bus.
-
This will require the ability to bend, kneel, squat, and twist safely. Pre-trip inspections also require the ability to balance oneself, climb, and strongly grip objects.

Bus Operators must be able to lift at least 25 pounds and push objects such as doors, windows, emergency hatches, wheelchair lifts.

Approximately 99% of the work schedule will be spent sitting down. Length of sitting period is based on the schedule.

Work assignments are based on seniority; therefore work hours will be varied and may include a period of unpaid time between morning and afternoon assignments.

Days off are also based on seniority.

Split days off are a strong likelihood.

OTHER FACTORS: Bus Operators may encounter irregular working hours, heavy traffic and patron’s diverse backgrounds. Under such conditions, they are still expected to operate Authority vehicles safely and on time.
